Andy Houseman
Currently a trainee guide Andy is looking forward to sharing his experience and passion for the mountains with you as a full guide very soon. Having spent the last 6 winters skiing and climbing in Chamonix, France he is currently based in the UK spending the winter in Scotland.
Andy started climbing over 10 years ago on the gritstone outcrops of Yorkshire but soon found his true passion was for the mountains. Since his first trip to the Alps in 2001 he has become a talented and experienced alpinist, climbing all over the world completing five expeditions to the Greater Ranges over the last few years. With new routes and significant repeats to his name, his ascent of the North face of Chang Himal in Nepal earned him a nomination for the 2010 Piolet d’Or (a prestigious annual award that celebrates the most significant alpine ascent of the year).
Fortunate enough to have been introduced to skiing at an early age Andy is equally at home and just as passionate about spending time on his skis - classic ski tours, deep powder and steep couloirs.
As well as guiding Andy is available for lectures and presentation on his climbing and skiing exploits.
Andy is sponsored by Mountain Equipment, Black Diamond, Scarpa and Tendon Ropes.
