Tim Blakemore

Michael and Tim on the Col de Berard, Chamonix

My experience has been gained in a wide and varied arena; I've been lucky enough to visit and climb on every continent on Earth. I love being in the mountains and pursue mountaineering in all its forms: UK Rock, Scottish Winter, Alpine Mountaineering in all seasons, Ice Climbing and Off Piste Skiing and Touring.

I enjoy guiding in remote or wild places with people who laugh, or make me laugh, or even better, both.

As well as guiding I act as a Technical Advisor to a number of organisations in the UK who specialise in outdoor education with young people and have provided Continuing Professional Development Workshops to organisations including MLTA and AMI.

I've been published in various publications including the BMC's magazine 'Summit' and the MCoS magazine 'Scottish Mountaineer' and have co delivered the BMC's Winter Mountaineering Lectures.

I welcome enquiries from all levels of alpinists, novice through to seasoned campaigner at any time of year. I'm particularly interested in ski touring in quieter, far flung places.

I split my time between the UK and the Alps, where I live (in the Chamonix valley). I'm father to my teenage son, Michael, who is growing up faster than his Dad.
