Considered to be one of the world’s greatest high altitude guides. Kenton’s record on Everest is with out doubt the best of any leader with success rates for clients far above normal levels. Kenton has 6 summits of Everest, 2 being back to back in a week, this being a first. Nominated in 2003 for the Piolet D’Or (climbing Oscar) for an audacious committing first ascent on Annapurnna III in Nepal, Kenton is renown for his bold approach to Himalayan climbing.
In 2007 he became the first British Guide to lead a client up the infamous North Face of the Eiger, commonly referred to as the death wall. This was Sir Ranaulph Fiennes, and in conjunction with ITN they did a live interview from the face into UK homes.
Thought as being at the top of his profession, one of the Elite IFMGA guides, he has built a reputation on a willingness to take on the impossible, providing a service second to none and gaining the respect from peers as well as clients.
If this wasn’t enough in 2006 he became the first Briton ever to ski down from an 8000m peak. The Tibetan mountain Cho Oyu (6th highest mountain on the planet) is in the Death Zone an area where there is so little oxygen life can’t be sustained, no only did he ski down, he did this solo, yet another first.
Kenton also delivers popular keynote sessions about his passion for his sport, as well as team building, leadership, motivation and facing personal fears in adverse situations. His years in the mountains has taught him how to overcome and face challenges, while bring out the best in those around him. His presentations are filled with humour, yet press a serious point, and are complimented with stunning photographs and video clips from his expeditions from round the world.
